For example, a small room with no insulation will loose a lot of heat requiring a stronger heat pump while a larger room with double glazing, good insulation and curtains may require a smaller unit. THe location of your house also needs to be taken into account. If you live in a place with lots of damp or cold weather then a stronger unit may well be required. Also not all units handle sub zero temperatures as effectively so choosing one that does will prevent you waiting for it to defrost as often.
