A heat pump should not be left on all day unless you have a need to keep a house warm even when you are not present. If you leave the heatpump on all day your power bill will rise, and heat created while you are away will end up being wasted.

You should plan to use your heat pump effectively. If you are not at home during the day, set your heat pump to turn on an hour or so before you get home. This will ensure your house is warm without wasting power heating the house while you are not there. If you have good insulation and close off doors to areas that don’t need heating then a couple of hours in the morning and a few hours in the evening will keep you warm.
